Meet Beyond London has brought together a range of sustainable venues across South East England who have either made conscious decisions to help protect the environment with their design, build and operation, or are making changes to limit the impact their guests are having on the world around them.  Many have been awarded ISO or BREEAM awards as part of this commitment to make their operations more sustainable. 

Not only will you be choosing a environmentally friendly venue, you and your guests will be helping to secure a sustainable future for everyone.  The Visit Britain 'Good to Go' charter mark gives you confidence that the organisation is working hard to follow Government and industry COVID-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

Located between 30 minutes - 90 minutes from London, the South East is an easy hop out of London.  With direct rail links and direct access from the continent via the Channel Tunnel also within the region, the South East offers an array of venue choices in towns, cities, countryside or on the coast and a sustainable choice in business travel to reach them.

Living Planet Centre

Based in Woking, Surrey, the beautiful, multi award-winning Living Planet Centre is at the forefront of sustainable design and construction.  One of the greenest buildings in the UK, this FSC certified and BREEAM Outstanding building is not only home to WWF in the UK but is also a first class meetings and events venue.  With natural light throughout and top of the range AV, suitable for events up to 150 people it’s the perfect space for your event.  More than just a sustainable building, our caterers provide a range of fantastic and menus that also meet our strict environmental criteria, with minimal packaging and waste.

Bombay Sapphire Distillery

The Bombay Sapphire Distillery at Laverstoke Mill was designed with sustainability in mind, from solar panels and rainwater harvesting to harnessing hydro-electric power from the river running through the site. The measures taken to make the Bombay Sapphire Distillery sustainable for future generations culminated to have the site awarded a BREEAM Outstanding award for sustainable design.

Suitable for cocktail receptions for up to 300, as well as for meetings, conferences and private parties, the Bombay Sapphire Distillery is a flexible venue perfect for both corporate and private events, specializing in bespoke cocktails and experiences, all within a site of special scientific interest.

Sheepdrove Organic Farm & Eco Conference Centre

Located in a stunning rural setting, nestled in the heart of West Berkshire, is the unique and versatile Conference Centre at Sheepdrove Organic Farm. The conference rooms and facilities offer something a little different and are all purpose built to an exceptionally high environmental standard. Marwell Hall at Marwell Zoo

Marwell Hall is an avid supporter of sustainable palm oil production, conversation, education, science and sustainability, Holders of the ISO 14001, with an ambitious Carbon Reduction Plan and Ethical Purchasing Policy in place this venue strives to maximise the positive impacts of its conservation activities and reduce the negative effects of all its activities on the environment.   Marwell Hall is located in the centre of Marwell zoo and can cater for all types of events, with plenty of outdoor space for team building activities. Alongside our Conference packages we offer various exciting additional activities. Booking your event with us carries a range of added benefits. These include entrance to the zoo, unlimited free parking, organiser loyalty scheme and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Brighton Centre

The Brighton Centre is one of the largest purpose built conference and exhibition centres in the South of England. It’s a compact and flexible venue with an enviable seafront location and the largest auditorium seats 4,450. 

The venue has a Sustainable Events Programme which has achieved two world class International Standards for Environmental Management (ISO 14001) and Sustainable Events (ISO 20121). Events of any size can sign up to the Sustainable Events Commitment and the venue itself offers a range of services to make it easy to organise a more sustainable event. With just a few simple steps, you and your delegates will be helping secure a sustainable future for everyone.

British Airways i360

Brighton | Sussex

The British Airways i360 is a 162m-tall observation tower, designed by Marks Barfield Architects, creators of the London Eye. The venue features sustainable elements such as low-flow wash basins, water-efficient dishwashing equipment and a composter that turns waste food into water. They also try and rely solely on green energy with some generated by the tower itself: the pods decent will generate half of the energy required to power its ascent. The futuristic glass viewing pod can be hired either as part of your event or exclusively, for receptions for up to 175 people. The beachside event rooms are located in a separate suite and can accommodate up to 200 for a meeting.

The Grand Harbour Hotel

The Grand Harbour Hotel is positioned right in Southampton's vibrant city centre; you'll find our Serenity Spa, our Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and temptingly cosy rooms.  Changes made at the hotel help both residents & day to day operations contribute towards a more sustainable future.  These include:-


  • Heating & power at the hotel is resourced sustainably by a geothermal well, through the district heating scheme

  • The removal of paper cups from the spa and leisure club.  Leisure members can now purchase thermal mugs from the hotel or bring their own in

  • Make it green for guest bedrooms! Reward yourself with a £5.00 credit for each night you decline housekeeping services and help us conserve natural resources

  • Effective management of air conditioning

  • Efficient waste management and recycling

The Oakley Court

Oakley Court is committed to working in a sustainable way. 

The hotel thrives on reducing its carbon emissions and recycling, it believes there are plenty of small steps guests take during their stay at this eco hotel that will help protect and maintain the wonderful wildlife and natural beauty surrounding them.


The 33-acre estate is covered in wonderful trails and walks, with plenty of chances for exploring. Every bedroom comes equipped with a handy lanyard map allowing our guests the chance to explore our grounds. Whether it’s a mini trek through the nature trail to see the hedgehog homes and bird houses, a wander around the magnificent 150 year old trees or a photo opportunity with the breath-taking driftwood sculptures, there is green emphasis on everything they have to offer.
