How to get to Southampton

By Rail

Reading is the western terminus for the new Elizabeth Line which links directly with central London, the City and Docklands. Reading is also just 22 minutes on GWR trains from Paddington. In all, Reading is reachable directly from more than 250 locations by train.

By Road

Reading is at Junctions 10/11 of the M4 and has a direct RailAir road link with Heathrow Airport (40 minutes).

Travelling to Southampton by rail:

You can catch a direct service to Southampton from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, and a whole load more. Southampton Central Station is about one mile from the city centre. 

Southampton Airport can be reached in around 10 minutes with regular trains running from Southampton Parkway to Southampton Central.
South Western Railway operates trains from London Waterloo to Southampton in around 1 hour 20 mins -  southwesternrailway.com

Southern operates trains from London Victoria (2 hours 30 minutes), London Gatwick, and Brighton (1 hour 55 minutes) - southernrailway.com

Travelling to Southampton by road:

Southampton is located at the junction of two major motorways, the M27 and M3, with the A34 also providing links to the home counties. London is just under 80 miles away.  Many Southampton venues and hotels provide free parking to their delegates; check individual websites.  The city also has 40 car parks around the city centre, as well as covered car parks in the main shopping area, such as Westquay with its 4,000 spaces.

Travelling to Southampton by ferry:

Two Red Funnel ferry services operate to Southampton Town Quay from Isle of Wight taking between 25 - 60 minutes.

Travelling to Southampton by coach:

The Southampton coach station can be found on Harbour Parade, with National Express coaches also dropping off and picking up from University of Southampton and St Mary's Stadium.
